Hey there, I have a friend who wants to sell me his Kimber 1911. He cleaned it after shooting it and scratched the body when removing the slide
. I would appreciate any help on how much that devalues the pistol. Thanks in advance.

As much as you now do or don't want it.

With limited information, and no pictures, it's like saying, "My buddy wants to sell me his Ford Mustang, but when he took it through a wash, the paint isn't perfect now. How much should I take off?"

    Hope that makes sense.

It does, I am talking about the idiot mark as they call it from re-installing the slide stop. Rest of pistol is mint, probably only shot once. Thanks again.

Again, it's what you want to pay for it.

Kimber has a laundry list of models, finishes and options.

It's worth what you're willing to pay for it.

Looks to be one of their lower end models, back when I worked in a shop I’m thinking that model sold for about 750. It’s lacking the things that start increasing the value, like front cocking serrations, ambi safety, wood or g10 grips, fiber optic or night sights. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a nicer 1911, I’d rather have that than a tisas, but it’s far from the high end of kimbers 1911 line (tle or rapid)

With one mag and a id10t scratch, I’m thinking 500 would be about the top end of what I’d be willing to pay

Thank you sooooo much. That is right around what I was thinking as well.
