    I have a complete Frakengun AR 15 in 7.62x39

    IIRC-
    Delaware Machinery stripped lower
    RRA 2-stage trigger
    cheapo UTG 6-position stock
    RRA stripped upper
    Model! sales bolt and barrel
    YHM Phantom muzzle brake/flash hider

Cheap as anything, but shoots like a dream

Better not show this thread to my son, he won't be able to stand up for a while. It's pretty much everything he would build down to the grip, even the 6.5. I'm starting him off with a 5.56 to grok until he can make good selections. He seems willing to follow me into the dubious world of .300BLK, at least until the Grendel settles down a bit. Do you load your own? Where have you gotten the stuff? I've managed to collect all that for the .300, but though I haven't really been hunting 6.5, I haven't seen any.

So far, mine just looks like any old flat M4 with night vision, waiting for the mother-may-I's on the can.

I used to have an AR in .204 Ruger. It was a great rifle, very accurate. .204 Ruger is cool because it uses standard AR15 magazines, a standard AR bolt, carrier, and everything else. The only thing different was the barrel. I had a 24" stainless, fluted heavy barrel, built on Rock River upper/lower, KAC FF Rail, Hogue grip, A2 stock, with a tuned RRA NM Trigger, and 10x Bushnell glass. I built it for a prairie dog hunting trip that I never went on, so I traded it off a couple years ago. It was a cool novelty, but I don't miss it.

Well, I didn't do any mods except adding a scope.
But here is Black Betty. (Yes you probably know the song I was listening to when I thought of the name)
Black Rain Ordnance Fallout in .308
Vortex scope 4-16x, ffp, lit reticle.

this is a better option than 7.62x39. Better round better everything.
yeah, I wanted both but wound up deciding the AK74's I had and have can do what I want in both calibers.
Also, when I had my AR47 done, 762x39mm was about $50/1000. I wish I had bought more than I did, I am almost out now and hate the idea of paying 3 times plus for it now. :)
