    Winchester made an attempt to provide a less expensive Model 12 way before Olin took them over in 1964, they called it the Model 25. Basically it is a non-takedown version of the 12 with very few parts that will interchange. It looks the same but is different.

    In the end it did not sell that well but does give the feel of the 12 for a smaller dollar amount. It is odd though in that with the limited production of the 25, if the demand increases, it could push it's value above that of a field grade m12...
