I agree that this should be shown in school however todays kids seem like they want someone else to make up their minds for them. It seems that no one is willing to action or responsibility for themselves. I couldn't help but watch this and think to myself how great it most have been to live in a republic since it seems like we are moving closer and closer to a monarchy

The "conditioning" has been going on for a few generations now. They are being taught to rely on others to take care of them and to ignore responsibility. (To a degree. And not every kid fall for it.)

We're well on the way! We need to get involved in our school systems now. Especially those of you who have children attending any school. (Private schools aren't as bad.)

This crap actually started when some of us were children in the '50's and '60's. You are seeing the results of 3-4 generations of programming now!

We need to spread the word - let others know about what's going on.

We need to reverse this trend before there is no one left who knows what our country is supposed to be.

Talk to the teachers, go to school board meeting, whatever it takes.

The problem begins at home not at school. Parents that rely on school to mold and shape their kids into proper adults are the problem. My two kids will both attend public school. It will be a small rural school that does not offer the programing ofa large surburban or metropolitan school or a private school. Their education will not lack because their mother and I will see to it. We will monitor what is taught or not taught, but more importantly we will turn off the TV and make sure homework is done and understood. we will also teach the values and work ethic we want. If our kids are failures at age 18 it will be our fault. If they fail after that it will be their fault.

At first I was caught off guard by the fact that some didn't know this was a republic? That it should be taught in school? Wow have I been out of touch! When I went to public school we were taught this was a republic.

America is becoming a very sad place. If someone had told me in high school that one day I would be watching videos (films) explaining that America is a republic and others watching the same videos (films) would make comments like I wish they taught this in school I would have called that person a communist and kicked the crap out of them.

I wish I grew up in your generation. I'm 25 now and I feel like everyone my age is so brainwashed, so liberal. It would have been nice to live in an era when being a Commie was still taboo. Now you've got kids walking around with pictures of Che Guevara on their t-shirts. And of course Comrade Obama propaganda everywhere.

I can't stand it. But maybe its best I didn't grow up in your generation, so I can be here to assure you that my generation is not completely lost to socialism. I'm not a teacher, but if I was I would make sure my students saw these kinds of videos and knew a thing or two about their country. Its a shame.

More kids need parents like you.
Problem is that many (if not most) of those parents were taught that they aren't as important as what the kids are taught in school. (They school system knows best). As pointed out, this has been going on for generations. (It goes to the whole "nanny state" thing.)

An example is sex education. How many parents have complained about that being taught in school? And how many of those parents have been told to "butt out. WE know what's best for your kids" Then there is the birth control issue - and not telling parents.

There are so many things wrong with the average school system. The parents need to say "STOP" that is MY child, not yours. I will decide!
But, they don't because that is the way they went through the system.

Yeah, more parents need to be like you.

IF the school board allowed you to show them. Most school boards determine what will be taught in schools, and what is not allowed.
The people need to attend the meetings and make their voices heard. (School board members are voted into those positions.)

I think we need to start replacing the school boards with good old red meat eating gun-toting Americans!

When I have children of school age, I think I would make an effort to do so. Hope you guys do too. We've gotta start somewhere, getting involved to fix this country.
