Hello all, sorry to hijack the thread but this looked like the appropriate place to land

I’m curious about your maintenance schedules (if any) on your CZ B variant pistols

    firing pin retaining pin.
    Do you keep spares?
what round interval/dry fire do you check this part?
    anyone had this part break?

    trigger return spring? Other?

I picked up a new PCR and P01 (sold my Glocks) this past month and appreciate the wisdom of the community. These are carry pistols and will be in a rotation.

From the Wizard (who was over my shoulder telling me what to type): Replace the firing pin retaining pin with one from Cajun Gun Works. The trigger return spring should be fine.

The stock FP do tend to break easily so I would not dry fire without placing a small rubber O ring over the FP or snap caps.
I replace them with a guaranteed for life CGW FP retaining pin $13 + shipping. I do keep some on hand just because it's my thing!
I have only replaced one trigger return spring due to breaking and also have some on hand just because!
I recommend the CGW Pro Package just because I am a CZpsyko! just ask anyone on here:D

Thank you all that have shared some knowledge, appreciate it! I'll pick up a few pins from CGW and swap out the OEM pins in my pistols. So, do you guys ever get together and shoot or is it just socks on your junk and doughnuts? If it's socks and doughnuts, count me in!

    thanks again!

We are scattered all of the state, but we try to organize with others in our sector that are able to get together. Some people have a more flexible schedule. I'm on the West side, so I tend to shoot there, but I also go down to Greenwood and meet some others occasionally. It's also good to get together with others that have the guns that already have the modifications that we are looking into doing to see if we want like it or not. The answer is usually YES! What range do you normally go to?

Also, there is only one of us that wears the sock. The rest of us dress normally. LOL

Those guys turn me off every time I'm in there. Wouldn't **** on the boss if he was on fire.
That place is less than 500 yards from my front door but I have not been in there in years. That is about the cliquiest shop I've seen. If you are not well known to them, they have little use for you.

The standard thing I do with new CZs is the firing pin retainer that BA mentions above along with the trigger return spring. I've never had a TRS break but replacing those has given me a nice supply of spares should one ever break in the future. I do tend to keep spare recoil springs around and have a bunch of spare firing pin springs from older guns that got new springs.

If dry firing a lot, either use a snap cap or an O ring in between the hammer and FP. Even with the upgraded FP retainer pin, they can beat on the retainer deforming it. Other than that, the CZs just seem to benefit from shooting them in more so than some other guns. As the round count rises, the guns become buttery smooth.

The real thing I tend to stock as spares for my CZs is more CZs.

Any one have some old 1” Leupold high rings that you’d trade for some mediums?

Some of us here use earlpugs for dry fire too. Cut a foam orange plug in half and place where the hammer falls. Protects everything and keeps your sessions alittle quieter.
Whoever here in the group that came up with that is a rock star. I love it, thanks again. 1 sock salute :ingo:

I was doing this to the new cajonized Phantom last night. Thanks again H45!!!

Well known or LEO/first responder. Evidently all other customers can basically go pound sand. I've been there once, learned my lesson and won't be back.

Thank you (and Leadeye). I am getting a SW 1500 243 back to the firing line. Scope on it won’t hold zero anymore and the one I have for it needs about a 1/16” more clearance.

I could just buy a pic rail but if someone can use the rings - win/win!

I have been there a few times. Once with a buddy that knew those guys. Went back a few months later and had issues getting anyone to speak with me about a 1911 they had in the case. Finally got one of them off their butts and he acted like I was an idiot. Well I can be idiotic at times but hey.
No I did not spend money there and will never grace the place again.
