Well it is a little easier to understand now. It was not animated when I first saw it so it was just a younger girl looking at a woman. no movement..

I guess if I put in the heading mom + omniscient = momniscient it would make more sense. The look from mom thinking"this is my daughter?"

That's not "bad editing" -- that's the whole idea.

A lot of "artsy" GIFs are made where everything is static except one key element. Like the lapping waves on a beach where all the folks are frozen in place; or the fire in a fireplace while people sit and stare, unmoving; or where one person moves (winks, smiles, waves, etc.) while no one else does. It's a "thing."
