I think you misunderstand, bud. I said "one without" not "pre-lock". I forgot how I have to word posts on INGO like Im writing a periodical or something. Its impossible to turn a "locked" gun into a "pre-lock" but it will function as such, which was the point. Though something tells me you understood what I was saying already. No, it becomes a lock model with the lock removed. Removing the lock doesn't remove the hole, and while there are little button things that you can put it in, it will never look as clean and as aesthetically pleasing as a pre-lock S&W.
... Problems with this lock are various, from the principal of the matter to reports of the mechanism engaging itself under heavy recoil. ...
Best way to fix them, is notify the makers that use them that you will not be purchasing their guns till they remove it.
Won't this void the warranty on my new 629?
if you have trouble just put the lock back in before you send it back....
it's a lawyer thing.....
It's a consumer thing, you buy it, they won't change it.
Who is S&W's actual competition in the revolver market?
Of course, we know there are others, but...
Ruger loves the Hillary Hole, on S&W's.

On a side note, does anyone actually have first hand knowledge of the lock engaging itself? Other than the scandium .44mag, as reported by Micheal Bane?
