My kids both had chores every day. Mowing, cleaning the barn, weeding the garden, etc. They helped butcher chickens and cut up deer. They knew where there food was coming from and both have an understanding of just how far being lazy will get them in this world. I think they both have enough pride to avoid handouts. So far, they have shown this.

    Dang it.
Chez ruined Parks and Recreation for me.

When I see Nick Offerman's character, it's like a kindred spirit.
But then I see the clip Chez showed where Nick Offerman tirades against guns.

ok, I cut 7" of hair off on Tuesday. The hubby hasn't said one word, positive or negative. I'm not sure if I should be mad that he hasn't noticed or glad that he did and didn't yell at me.

    He's a dude.
We take a bit to notice.
Then, we have to wonder what we can say, without getting our heads removed.

Don't worry about it. I don't expect performers, artists, and musicians to be wise politicians any more than I expect our legislators to sing and dance or tell jokes.

    True.
Although the entertainers seem to reach more people than politicians. Causing them to elect politicians with those "values".

he's a dude that loved my longer hair. It's gone now. I am sure he isn't happy.

When I got my new glasses, I only heard about how expensive they were. It was all reimbursed, but he still can't get over how much they cost. He never comments on my hair.

Maybe he only comments when he complains.
Which means if he's not commenting, he's not complaining.

Or it could be he just doesn't want to fight on that hill.

there ya go. That sounds like MrG in a nutshell. I told him I was going to do it if he didn't keep his goatee trimmed. He hasn't, so the hair is gone. I've been wanting to do it for a long time but refrained because he likes it long. this isn't a tit for tat, more like a you scratch mine, I'll scratch yours.

We don't fight. I can count on one hand how many times we have truly had a fight in the past 22 years. Those fights usually were related to raising my kids.

I agree though...sometimes it falls into that "no news is good news" kind of thing so if he isn't saying anything, it must not bother him. If something bothers one of us, we speak up and say so. He accepts me for who I am and vice versa.

I do know he doesn't like my hair really short so I try to keep it at least shoulder length. I figure if it is hot in the summer, I can at least throw it into a ponytail.
