A Merwin Hulbert 4th model pocket revolver made sometime after 1887 which had a seven shot cylinder in 32 caliber. The Merwin was favored by a variety of outlaws, lawmen and citizens over it's short history. Manufactured by Hopkins and Allen neither it nor it's records survived the great fire experienced by that company in 1900. Merwin made larger guns chambered in cartridges like 44-40 for frontier service, but this model was probably someones town gun although the 32 caliber gun was used by police departments. Sporting it's factory pearl grips I can imagine it in some professional gambler's pocket along with this watch from the 1870s.
