Brought my new P365 to the range today.

Background: I am a pretty big SIG guy, and have been shooting them for many years (I currently have 5 SIGs). For the last 4+ years, I have been carrying a SIG P938, and I love it. It has been my trusted companion daily for a long time.

The higher capacity of the P365 attracted me, but since I am so used to having a manual safety on my carry gun, I was waiting for the release of the version with the manual safety before diving in.

I went to an indoor range today, and although I prefer outdoor ranges, this one was close, and when I went in, I was the only shooter.

I brought a few different types of ammo with me to test:

-Fiocchi 115gr RN (I haven't shot factory ammo in years other than my SD ammo!)
-Federal HST 147 +P (SD ammo)
-Handloads - RMR 147 gr FP over Sport pistol (PF = ~132)
-Handloads - RMR 124 gr JHP over Sport pistol (PF = ~132)
    -Handloads - Berry's 100 gr (.380) over HP-38 (mouse fart loads)

At this point, I only have the 2 standard 10 round mags, one with the pinkie extension.

I put about 200 rounds downrange through the P365 without a single hiccup. It ate the HST +P rounds just as easily as the 100 gr mouse fart loads. Zero issues, smooth cycling, consistent patterns between all of the loads.

I was focussing on SD, so I put the target at 21 feet (7 yards). I wasn't really after any type of accuracy tests as such, but was more interested in functioning.

    BUT...

Even though I was getting pretty tight groups for a sub-compact pistol (4" groups with an occasional flyer), all of my groups were about 5" low at 7 yards. UGH.

Now before anyone comments, yes, I understand that SIG uses a combat sight picture. Yes, I centered the dot over the bullseye.

This low shooting was consistent across all ammo types. Decent groups, but all low.

I also brought my P938 to compare, and of course I got great groups that were centered on bullseye. I understand that I am comfortable with the P938, and that it has a lot more rounds down the pipe, but the difference was stark.

Both guns were comfortable to shoot, and even without the 12-round extended mag (ordered, waiting on delivery), I was able to get a great, comfortable grip, and the P365 was a joy to shoot.

I rapid-fired a couple of mags, and everything functioned perfectly.

All-in-all, the P365 was a complete success in its debut, other than the low groups. I need to look into a different front (or rear) sight to see if I can bring the groups up a few inches.

Anyone else see this (other than those that don't understand the SIG sight picture)?

I too have joined the “Sig”ness.

I purchased my first Sig, P320 X5 Legion, before the end of July. Since receiving it I have installed a DPP and competed with it in both Steel Challenge and USPSA carry optics. Have a total of 1500 rounds through it now without the first hiccup.

Very pleased with the purchase. It reminds me of my Edge as far as grip feel and weight.

I have seen a couple of cases talked about where they suspected they had the wrong front vs rear sights on them. I don't know if that could be the case. On the Classic Sigs you can sometimes see the numbers on the sights to confirm, not sure on the P365. If you are convinced it isn't you, I would call Sig.

Yeah, I looked for a number on the sights, but nothing.

I might as well call SIG and see what they can do for free before I go spending any money.

Currently, all I own is glock and springfield, but I'm wanting to try a Sig for my next purchase. Looking at a full size. I've heard good and bad about it, but I'm willing to try it out.

I only own Sig "P" Series guns and they're all good by my standards. :):

....yet I'm also dangerously attracted to redheads so my opinion my be compromised.

If you get into Northern Indiana, I have a few P series pistols you can try. Shoot me a message, I'll try to get a day/time set up. My 3 are 9mm,

If you call them, let us know how it goes.

So I called SIG Customer Support today. The guy was nice, but VERY condescending. He kept telling me that if I send it in, and there is nothing wrong with it, they will charge me something outrageous like $200 for range time/ammo and shipping, and that 8 out of 10 issues like this are user issues.

He asked me if it was my trigger control, and I told him that I was shooting a VERY tight group, just consistently low across 4 different ammo types and over 200 rounds. ALL LOW. He said I should test from a rest at 10 yards before sending it in just to be safe. Maybe the new trigger was making me shoot low, or whatever. I told him my P938 was shooting fine, as are all of my other guns, but he said that a striker fired gun is different than a hammer-fired gun. I agreed, and then told him that I have about 10,000 rounds through my P320 striker-fired gun, but he still said "it was probably me". I told him that I shoot my buddy's P365 just fine. He said it was still probably me. Whatever...

I gave up the back and forth and decided to take his advice and shoot from a rest at 10 yards, and then decide. It is probably good advice at the end of the day.

Does anyone here have a P320 Legion? I'm looking into getting one and was wondering what holsters are compatible. Are we gonna need to wait for legion specific holsters to come out or will they fit into the regular p320 or x-five holsters? Anything you guys can tell me would be great. Thanks.

The Legions are just some differences on trigger, finish, sights, AFAIKR. So they should fit in the same holsters.

Annoyed with Sig.... I called them on Wednesday to make sure my P-320 X-Carry was milled for a Delta Point Pro and even gave the rep my Serial number to make sure , rep assured me it would work .

The rep was totally wrong, picked up a Delta point Pro at the 1500, went home to mount and no dice. It's the old style milled slot that only fits the Chinesium Romeo 1. So I had to order the adaptor plate from Springer Precision . Got a good deal on the Delta point from Kinzies so between the optics and plate I am only out $400 but still super annoying. Will be calling Sig this AM to chew someone out.

Yes, it fits in the same holster as the standard X5.
