Hoppes #9 comes in as a close 2nd. I would wear that stuff as cologne if I could.

My wife even likes it. Tells me that every time I clean a firearm.

When I was first learning to shoot a shotgun, we frequented Indiana Gun Club. Back then there was a guy named Earl Scripture that was running things. I would always see him smelling a hull as soon as he removed it from his gun. I asked him about it one day and he tossed me a freshly fired Federal Paper hull and at that moment, I completely understood it.

I didn't own my first firearm or go hunting until I was in my mid 20's. Even as an adult, there was something special about first experiencing the smell of burned gunpowder in the woods and then the smell of Hoppes #9 afterward.
