I snow blowed the drive again today
Then I ran over to North Liberty to figure out what was wrong with my kids truck. Got it home for him, driveshaft carrier bearing went out, had him drive it home (1/2 mile) he's getting one tomorrow, don't know if I'll help change it or not

Walked the GSD around the property. Looked up what a driveshaft carrier bearing is.

It is a bearing that carry's the center of a 2 piece drive shaft.
I am going to great lengths to eliminate this in the resto I am doing right now.
Reminds me of the 7 1/2 bearing in a J-57 jet engine. Mounted between two co-axial turbine shafts to keep them from smacking into each other.

Front engine rear drive busses used to have two or three drive starts with intermediate bearings. They may still have them. It has been many years since I had that headache.
