Sad that you have to leave your home prepared to go to battle while you are out but that's the world we are living in.
If there's no punishment then it wasn't a crime.. A little punishment would go a LONG way to solving this problem.

It's an amusing thought-exercise to think about what would happen in a hypothetical, parallel world where real, Mexico-style gangs of thugs appeared in Cleveland, who were actually raised penniless, and decided they didn't want punks like these on their turf, terrorizing neighborhoods and hassling their customers.
Maybe the open borders people had it right after all. Maybe we don't have too many poor people. We just have too many "fake" poor people. Maybe we need to import some real ones, if the justice system won't do its job.
That's admittedly a pretty dystopian thought. But how much confidence do you have in the "systematic" result, when the Police chief calls it animalistic...but the Prosecutor says it's the car's fault?
Makes me feel that much better about my decision to wear a belt though. The victim might have actually scored a decking or two if he could've kept his damn pants up

Totally agree, I know it won’t happen but a few public hangings would do a lot to correct things.

Either we need more prisons, or release the minor convicts.
I could also see how spectacle killings of convicts would complete the current bread and circus narrative.

Pretty sure we would not be in this mess if there was some accountability for ones actions. Like there used to be. Once it stops, things begin to slowly change, and not for the better.
