I carry my Leek tip-up, spine towards back of pocket. One morning I was in a hurry and didn't get it placed as snug as usual. Got a nice little nick, instantly thought of Rhino for some reason!

Tip up, spine against the pocket seem.

C'mon, are we really supposed to stop doing everything rhino manages to cut himself doing?!? What will be left to do?

This will most likely never happen to me again. I learned the first time I put my keys in my knife pocket. Sliced me pretty good.

Now I avoid all of this by dedicating my right front pocket for my flashlight and knife only. That way I will never reach deep into my pocket. I also hate fumbling around the knife.

I carry my pathfinder daily tip up and weak side so spine faces out instead of in. Never had a single problem. I been paying more attention to it now especially since that is the only pocket clip configuration. It's made to go in the right pocket but I prefer my left

I am a bit dissapointed that no one has made a joke whether they prefer their tips up or down

The very first thing I did when I bought a new leek was slice the end of my finger reaching to pull it out of my pocket. I make it a point to keep things pointed down for safety from that day on...

I could swear that you attended a course where you were warned against tip up carry.

Well, yeah! And, I've experienced the problem before and moved all of my clips (that I could) for tip down.

In this case, the knife did not allow tip down carry, but it was way too cool to not carry. I learned my lesson (this time) and I'm going to find a different way to carry that particular knife, which is still way too cool to not carry!

Love machine, because if you cut yourself on it one time, you hard wired common sense will never allow you to attempt to draw it at combat speed ever again.

I have been carrying my Byrd Cara Cara 2 tip up with a zit tie on there. I dont think this blade is every going to accidentally open up in my pocket. The spring really keeps that blade pushed closed. I have been loving the wave opening the past week. And it keeps getting better and smoother with break in.
