I like hearing what the police on this forum have to say because it gives me some hope that not all the police department around this country have turned against the rest of the population that they are a part of. I would not have the patience to be on the police force, seeing some of the crap I saw in the Marines made me loose my patience somewhere along the way, so I can sympathize with cops who have to keep catching the same clowns off the street each day because of a judicial system that refuses to put the hammer down on them. I really don't know how they do it day in and day out, for the polite ones anyway, and keep on being gracious. My hat is off to them and please keep sharing your words of wisdom and encouragement to the rest of us who might feel our society is collapsing around us.

I should also thank you not just for the kind words but for your service in the Marines. Thanks for taking care of us.

Thanks to all, and also a Merry Christmas!!!

(Right, no Happy Holidays, etc. I'm getting to old for the politically correct version of Christmas)

Thanks to all for your understanding.

Merry Christmas to you too. And the best of hollidays to every one here. May your holidays be filled with joy, family and friends. May your stockings be filled with all those little things that Santa didn't bring you. May the real reason for the season fill your heart and everlasting life.

And I hope that my family remembers my itune cards.

I have to agree with TB, most encounters with a LEO been ok, beside some uninformed a holes, but in the long run most apreciate their jobs, and to the point that es sad to se some officers from the Gary PD , working weekends in the local flea market on the weekends or as security at the locals casinos to make ends meet, to much risk at the job for such low pay,but the mayor not welling to give up his hummer and his tugs(security guys) even some squad cars dont even have computer on board, that is sad

Very cool Lonnie :yesway: Same to you and yours. I don't even think in terms of whether you are a LEO or not. You're just a good guy that I had the opportunity to have a conversation with here early on and discovered that we are not so different in our fundamental positions on alot of issues. God Bless.

Thank you, but it was nothing. I was just one of many, past and present. I had an older brother KIA in 67' - Con Thien Province - he was a true hero. My father, at Pearl on 12/7/41 - a gunner in a B-25 until a Japanese bullet tore thru his legs in 44'. I am nothing compared to these men.:(

You are correct, they are true heros. They are now heros to me. Thanks for sharing.

My father was a basic cook in WWII until he volunteered to drive gas for Patton (Redball Express). My father-in-law was in the 101st at Bastonge.

Thank you to all the LEO's here as well as all the military men and women, may GOD bless and keep you safe. It sickens me every time I hear someone who has no idea what they're talking about talk trash about all cops because of something one or two have done.

+1 to OP. LEO's get to deal with humanity at it's worst and best. Their ability to keep it level and maintain a positive attitude day in and out is encouraging. My hat off to all LEO's, those who have ever worn the uniform, and those that are enough bubbles off plumb to run into a burning building when all others are running out. :yesway::patriot:
