Never forget, a lot of good people gave everything so we could have today.

Also, know that we have a lot of problems to deal with right now.

Our once great nation is being run by a dementia patient and a cackling idiot, and there is always somebody out there waiting to pounce... due to the weakness these idiots have created.

We are every bit as vulnerable now, as we were back then.

Be thankful for those who have protected us in the past, and those who may have to once again.

So if infamy has an expiration date, it must be around 80 years +/-

Very sad I’ve seen zero mentions again this year.

    FoxNews:

For the second year in a row, Fox has the only references to Pearl Harbor that I've seen today.

    .
An uncle of mine was in Carlson's Raiders, I remember him as big tough guy who did not speak much about it. Pesky kids that we were, my brother and I always asked about WW2 stories from relatives who had served.

Well any act that leads to the use of nuclear weapons is not something that can be talked about in the open. Somehow it would be a justified preemptive attack by the end of the discussion.

I mentioned up thread that it was 18 days before my grandmother‘s cousins family found out he was still alive. It seems like my dad said it was three days afterwards before they even heard about it out in the country where he grew up.

Honor and sacrifice have no expiration date.

I am honored to have the knife he carried throughout the Pacific campaign.

He signed up the day after Pearl. Before he shipped out, my grandfather gave him a really nice fixed blade knife. When he came back, he returned it to my grandfather and said, "I don't need this any more..."

My grandfather gave it to me. I often wonder what stories it could tell, but I probably wouldn't want to know based on the few stories he shared with the family.
