Travel issues

I'm going to be going back and forth from Indy to NOLA several times in the next few weeks due to my wife having spine surgery there. I've done the drive a few times but don't remember if there are any issues with CC thru KY, TN, AL, MS and LA. I seem to remember something about rest stops in one of them I think.
Anybody aware of any special precautions that are needed?
