Trying to ID a Colt Mk IV! Pics added!

I know of a Colt Mk IV that might be available to pick up down the road and I am trying to come up with an idea of value. It is stamped Government Model. Serial # FG39XXX. From what I have seen so far it looks to have been made in the 1980s. I have only seen pics, but it is a beautiful looking peice that belonged to a friend's father.

Found the number for Colt, so I am going to call in the morning to try and get a date for it!

If you contact Colt (1-800-962-COLT) and provide the serial number, they will give you the year of manufacture.

Just got off the phone with Colt, I know that it is a Colt Mk IV, Government Model, Series 80, 45 ACP, made in 1985! Makes me want it even more, since that is the year I was born. No just have to nail down a value for her.

Nothing extraodinary there, just a nice series 80.
Bobbed hammer and a ding dong scratch
    $600-650

Decent looking Series 80 Government Model. Good gun to start with. Get it and enjoy shooting it. It will last your lifetime.

I plan on getting it when she decides to part with it. She does not like guns. I was thinking of offering 500 for it. Figured it was in the ballpark.
