Meh, I grew up with all the UFO stuff along with the cold war. Today everybody has an exceptionally good movie camera and instant communication world wide, but we see no more ET shows.

They aren't out there and they never were.

People will say "lol aliens..." then immediately go back to busting out windows and looting.
I really think a lot of people overestimate just how much the general public would care or even pay attention to it.

I've researched bob lazar a bit and the most compelling theory about him is a lot less interesting.

It goes like this
He was working on a proton beam for spoofing aircraft on radar, which would draw a spot in the sky and since it's effectively a terminating laser pointer it could do anything just by aiming it around.
He brought friends out to see it when they were testing it.
Brass found out and said either he's going to tell a story about aliens and UFOs for the rest of his life or he's going to discover what happens at black sites.
So now he has this elaborate story he's repeated for decades and is the only thing keeping him from disappearing.

Yeah, but we're talking about things that go "grunt grunt" or "growl" in the night, smell like skunks and allegedly walk upright. That could be anyone at the Indy 1500, but still no pics?

Disorientation, bewilderment and confusion have always been present over the thousands of years. By intent.
People have always thought of them in terms of then current conventions.
