    Well . . . yeah!

There are a couple of factors in operation in this situation, as I see it.

    1. Most of that part of the world can't spell "human rights" much less understand what it means to developed and "civilized" nations of the world.

    2. Folks who have been repressed and terrorized by their own government or other groups will almost invariably try to "get some of their own back" when they acquire the power to do so.

Libya... Egypt is getting worse it seems like every passing day. I am so anxious for Obama to fix Syria next.

    I can hear it now
'My fellow Americans, today the UN Security Council has voted to approve the use of a broad coalition of military forces, spear headed by the United States, to assist in eliminating the violence and civil rights violations occurring by the anti democracy regime in Lybia.......'

Of course, just in time for the elections

Syria and Egypt at the same time? I think we could do it!

Actually, I believe I've read somewhere that Syria has one of the best (!) armies in the Middle East and something like the fourth best air defense system in the world. Not sure we could easily beat them without marshaling the Gulf War I capabilities we used then - which we no longer have.
