Looks like the muzzleloader season is off to a slow start with a LOT of fog over most of Indiana. By the time the fog lifts he deer will be bedded..

The law of diminishing returns will probably kick in soon.. Not as many deer out there as in the beginning and not as many deer hunters out after them.

Not sure if it this weekend or not..

I was told that the number count is off. They said that there was some issues at the beginning of firearms season and people needing to try multiple times to get checked in online. Even though it would only go through once, the computer system kept count of every attempt. That means the total is actually lower. They one lady tried 17 times to check in a buck she shot and got red flagged by the DNR. I think that's when they noticed their issue.

I heard one shot yesterday. It's been pretty quiet here during muzzleloader. I was happy to see a few nice bucks still showing up on my trail cameras that survived the hunt. I do have venison thawing for supper though. :):

They are listed as "raw numbers".

I'm curious as to who said that the numbers are off. Can you elaborate? Also if they were off at the beginning of the firearm season I would think they would be corrected by now, wouldn't you?
