If you are wanting to go North, the Northwoods of Wisconsin is hard to beat. Can't speak for the Dells, b/c we always drive right by it on our way to the Minocqua / Woodruff area. The Dells come off as a little too "Tourist Trappy" for me. Great weather up there during the heat of summer, great fishing, and plenty of resorts to choose from. Just an all around relaxing week away. The city of Minocqua has a good website you can check out.

I agree with you there. I have a place in Land O' Lakes so I am a little biased. I am leaving tomorrow morning and headed there for the week with the fam.:rockwoot:

Just an update. Ended up with daughter-in-law having a gall bladder attack and is having it removed soon. Not wanting to go anywhere for a long period, we decided to get tickets to the broadway show "The Lion King" at the State Theatre in Cleveland this Fri. and a trip to the Cleveland zoo on Sat. Staying at the Intercontinental hotel downtown on Carnegie Ave. (wherever that is). I guess a weekend away is better than nothing. Maybe a better family vacation later this summer/early fall. Thanks for all the great ideas.
