I think it also shows how much easier it is to sight a rifle with a "peep" style rear sight vs. the old blade and notch style.

Pretty neat. The M1 Garand sure seemed to have the nicest sight picture, by far. As for the French Chauchat LMG piece of junk, anyone hazard a guess as to why the sights were offset from the bore axis so far? Maybe they realized that sights didn't matter on it, or they didn't want them to get in the way of using it as a club?

I actually prefer historic sights, I seem to do well with them, plus long range shots are a lot of fun.
