It might be a long time before anyone can go to the top.

National Park Service: Washington Monument to remain closed 'indefinitely' - Washington Times

Some questions have been tossed out by the park service and I thought they were interesting. What is being discussed is how to fix and strenghten the monument.

Several crane companies, have been contacted on how to remove the damaged stones.

    They include:
    • A complete rebuild
    • A rebuild of the upper 30% of the structure and complete reinforcing of the whole monument
    • Repairs and closing the momument to visitors
Cost is not an option, and I'm interested to see what they have in mind to fix it.

Tear it down and do not replace it. It symbolizes something other than our first president.
