I think the article makes some pretty big assumptions with macroeconomics that most gearheads don't really understand. This kind of thing does not happen over night and has multiple contributing factors.

I read it and didn't notice that. :dunno:

Makes me wonder if it is on his favorites list.

If you'd like to tackle the claims in the article, I'd be happy to read your critique.

As for the tariff, Cooper has end to end tire production in the US and Mexico. If they can't shift production in response to whatever the market conditions are, tariffs included, maybe the Indians can.

You are more than welcome to do it yourself.

Seem to me it gives them a foothold to import the lower tariff tires from India to the US, also gives Coopers China built tires an outlet in India .

Wonder if Obama will seek higher tariffs on tires from India now ?

Why would I critique an article I linked to? I don't see anything that is factually incorrect. You intimated that because it is posted on the World Socialist Web site it isn't truthful.

Yes, as for the new owners of Cooper having purchased a network to use to get their India made tires into the US, I assume that is why they bought them. That is what I meant by shifting production in response to conditions.

You know what they say about wrestling pigs?
Everyone knows a pig pin when they see one.
Truth is subjective to a socialist.

And tariff game played by Obama team for his union buddies has no effect
on the tire companies and the decisions they make?
