    No actually I’m not. Mis appropriation of terms actually. At the time the huckle was a handle on a casket. The man who carried a casket was a huckle bearer…… vernacular of the period. The man that looks at me and tells me he will carry my casket would be much more shocking than a man naming a juicy tart berry :)

    You would be correct sir...term appropriately applied to time period and use thereof.
    The term was either shortened. misheard, misinterpreted, or simply adapted in the telling of the story over the years!
