I was out ratting my own bras the other day and found this case.
I have never seen anything like it before now. I searched online and found aluminum case ammo, but none that look like this one.
It almost looks like it is two parts?

SHELL SHOCK technology. They were loaded crazy spicy hot from the looks of the case, too. Or maybe just used a lot. IIRC they are reloadable but they require special dies.

Johnny's Reloading Bench did a vid or two maybe?
    Very interesting. Thank you.

I always find the brass alternatives to be odd...like the new polymer case rifle ammo (True Velocity) that uses a steel head insert:
    Definitely can't reload that stuff!

Try to reload one see what happens and report back. If you aren't interested in experimenting send me 5 cases I'll try it.

Sure, I'll get right on that...
Wouldn't be to hard to try. Lube the case size it slowly and see if it starts to separate. They might be reloadable without fancy dies.

I've reloaded aluminum cases even though I was told you can't. I got 3 Reloads out of aluminum 9mm cases before they started to split.

I sure f'n hope not. Anneal that super-conductive case head and see how fast it burns down your castle.

I couldn't get the purple to work.
I was hoping that was a joke.

I was actually expecting them to split while reloading them the first time.
    Then the 2nd time.
    Then the 3rd time.
Now only a few split on the 4th load. I still had 48 cases that I could have tried but I felt 3 loads for throw away cases was plenty good enough.
I mainly wanted to know if it was possible.
I found out it is. I knew some aluminum cases are berdan primed. The ones I used to test was Blazer aluminum. They were boxer primed which was a surprise.

    .
Well, you know the old Bullseye .45 rule: Load them until the neck splits, then load them one last time and leave them on the range.

I know for a fact that some old, maybe bold, but definitely-not-lacking-frugality...shooters have taped or glued primers back into their service rifle cases, trusting the pressure and bolt face to hold everything together.
