9mm now. Two reasons: Pocket guns are available in that caliber that use the same mags as my belt CCW pistols.
I’ve carried a lot of different calibers over the 48 years I’ve carried concealed firearms. With the introduction of better JHP bullets in the 9mm, there is no reason to carry the harder recoiling calibers, in my opinion. For CCW, there is no one shot stop caliber available unless it would be a derringer in 45/70…. Lol

No surprise that 9mm is the winner by far. It's the most convenient, largest number of firearm choices, cheapest to shoot (other than .22), and an overall good fit for that role in most circumstances.

    Wow...!
I can't believe I'm the only one to say this and it's not in the poll, 38 SUPER!
I carry a custom 1911 CCO in 38 Super. My defensive loads are pushing a 125gr Gold Dot close to 1400 fps.

I'm back to 5.7 after a lot of years of 9mm.

I can find the right ammo a lot easier now days, and I will take 22 rounds of capacity in something as slim as a single stack 9 quite happily over anything else.

With a spare magazine in the pocket and a round in the chamber, that's 45 rounds on the person. And in a package smaller than I was carrying before.

I normally carry .45, I have a nice concealable package that's 10+1. If not the .45 it's often a .40 or a 9mm. 9 gives me more rounds, but I do love my .45. I guess I think it's one that will take chunks out of whatever I'm shooting at, bigger and better than the other two. ;-)

Does anyone else see 357 sig or 5.7 and think “we got some Richie Rich edc folks in here”!

I owned a 357 sig back in the 90s or early 2000s, when the FBI switched to it. Gosh was it expensive compared to 9mm.

IDK...I can buy .38 Special, .40 S&W, and .45 acp cheaper than I can 9mm, and .380 acp is more expensive than 9mm at a LGS.

Where are you buying 38 Special, 40 S&W or .45ACP cheaper than 9mm? I can find 9mm for $0.18 / round (new brass-cased). Those other rounds are at last one and a half times that cost. If you can come even close to that price for the other rounds, let me know! I want to buy there!

Same. I don't bother to reload 9mm. It's too cheap to be worth it.
