I just got my Armasight CORE Spark, and it is superb so far. Very, very clear. It looks like real life, except in green, not grainy or blurry at all (as long as you adjust focus manually). It is a VERY good deal at $390 on Opticsplanet right now after 15% discount, and free shipping--plus it includes a free IR Illuminator with focus (a $100 value). Plus, it is made in 'Merica!

I haven't tested it outdoors yet, but since it is 1x I can walk around in the pitch dark with it and not get disoriented. It can even be helmet or gun mountable. I believe it has the same mounts as the PVS type monoculars.

For average guys who don't need or know what they're missing yep I bet its great and also in their budget. As a toy. Let's make no mistake or bs about it.

As a toy? I wouldn't consider it a toy. This is a $500 device, not a Chinese monocular for kids (even the $200-300 type magnified junk). I would want something Gen3 for sure if I were a warfighter, because second best doesn't cut it, but that doesn't mean anything less is a toy. There are focus and light gate blocking issues with this device. But I wouldn't consider something approaching Gen2 resolution only a toy. It is fully weapons mountable, and would be perfect for hog hunting at under 200y. It does work (this device is very new design and unique, read reviews from other Gen3 owners), and is supposed to be great for anyone not looking to spend thousands, but still enjoy NV.

I'll gladly post pics from my tube for comparison if that would make any difference. If it is a toy, then I have been deceived. It exceeds expectations thus far, but I need to get it outside for some longer distance viewing.

Just need an IR laser and to convince someone to let me wander around their property and shoot at things. Ill just have to wait a few weeks until I can really put it through its paces when I can make it down to my in-laws in the Knobs and tear around their property. I see some after hours, late night, golf carting in near future.
