For more pistol and machine pistol training.

More ammo to be shot downrange at the CTA in New Mexico and FLETC in Joe-juh.

More ammo to be shot off of a NSC by U.S. Patriot and his boys.

More ammo to be shot up by the Secret Service (you do know that they shoot, a lot, right?).

Have you seen the ToO for DHS? Look at who is involved. That's a lot of guns and it is OPA.

That solicitation looks like it's for 240,000 rounds, not 21.6 million rounds. The unit of issue MX stands for 1000. The way the article is written, they're reading MX to mean 100,000 or 40,000 depending on the line item. That's not how government unit of issue designations work.

And, btw...a solicitation is not a delivery order or purchase order. There can be long delays between the two, especially with the threat of sequestration looming.

Don't tell Alex Jones abut the actual amounts involved. He is busy checking the closet for hidden FBI microphones.

It is for training. Don't we want our military and LE to be all the ball instead of numbnuts?

If the government were about to unleash war on freedom-loving citizens, one would think they would be a tad more circumspect about placing their purchasing habits in the public domain.

So the government can build stealth....everything without much public knowledge, but they can't seem to keep their super-secret ammo supplies for the coming round-up off the blogs?....yeah.

Not meaning to sound like I'm lining my hats with Reynolds Wrap, but I think it's an effort to drive up prices. That whole supply and demand thing, it does work.

    DHS Stock Piling Ammo.

Why would the Department of Homeland Security buy 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition in the last ten months? I just heard this on Fox Business News about ten minutes ago on the Lou Dobbs Show.

    Well, who falls under DHS?

    Border Patrol
    Immigration and Customs Enforcement
    Federal Protective Service
    Federal Law Enforcement Training Center
    Coast Guard
    Secret Service

Hmmm. Law enforcement and related training facilities purchasing ammunition. Whatever could it mean?

None of them at any one time are training that much. It's not like the Secret Service, Border Patrol and ICE are out shooting every day.
