What to charge for my ammo? I sold 3000 rds of .22LR to a buddy last week (7 cents per rd), and am planning on selling some centerfire ammo.

what would be a good price to ask for this type ammo:

    Winchester white box 9mm FMJ

    Federal .40 FMJ 165gr

    Winchester 9mm JHP

    357magnum JHP

    .40 180gr FMJ

    Winchester white box .223 FMJ

    Remington .223 FMJ

    Winchester .223 soft point

    Federal .223 FMJ

    Remington .22 short

    a 200rd .308 surplus unopened battle pack

Some have old price stickers, which I left on to promote discussion. :)

I will probably keep the shotgun ammo, since I can see using that eventually.

Depending on location I may be interested in some of the 223, 308 and 9mm, but I reload. But for pricing it needs to be comparable to what others can buy it for minus a small discount. 9mm runs about $0.22/round for FMJ and $.080-1.00/round for HP. 40SW is 50%higher for FMJ. 223 for plinking is about $8/20 rounds. (Ultimately it's what your willng to sell it for and what someone is willing to pay). A reloader probably won't buy any because they can load it cheaper. With the price of gas it'll have to be someone local as well-fortunately they are common calibers.

    Ive not priced 357

how old are these boxes? Some of them look like they may have been around a little while because of colors and designs.

if they have been kept properly, i.e. not soaked in a bathtub or covered with sand, I wouldn't worry about even 30 years old factory ammo.

According to some you should charge what you paid for it when you bought it. I would charge slightly less than current market prices

I agree with bk. If someone can go get a box out of the case at Wally World for $50 (of whatever type of ammo) then I'd suggest selling the box you have for $40 or maybe $45.
