Looking to buy an inexpensive 308.

Don't really know much about TCA.

    Any opinions?

Stick to the oldie but goodie Remington 770?

Best cold shot performance on a consistent basis across many rifles tends to be the Savage.

I've had good reports back from customers on the Howa...but those have been less than .3" diameter. Same rifle as the Weatherby Vanguard.

TCA makes high quality firearms and they have a good customer service/warranty. I'd go with TCA or Savage over the Remington.

I love my Encores and I would not consider the 770 a "good old anything". Savage has the lower end market cornered.

I've never heard anybody call the Remington 770 an oldie but goodie.
Maybe he had a typo (meant 700) :dunno:

This 770 might be considered an oldie but goodie
