I like it. VZ grips make everything they are on look good.
I have been shooting my 340 quite a bit lately. Mine came with the small Hogue Bantam grips which did nothing to help recoil. I have a set of older Uncle Mike's grips that I can get my whole hand on which makes shooting it much easier and more pleasant. I have a really nice set of wood grips with the S&W logo on them that look great on the little revolver, but you'll be bleeding after 25 rounds of .357 Mags. Mine really likes the Magtech 158 gr. SJHP, but those are really abusive on the hands and wrists.

Put some new Altamont, Super Walnut, Crocback Combat grips on the 686 today.
I remember sitting here one night having a couple coctails, reading a thread in INGO about Altamont grips and the next thing I know a set show up in the mail? Funny how that happens.
    I like them none-the-less.

I really like the way those grips look. I may have to look into some of those.

The shroud doesn't pivot as far as I know, but the hammer is still accessible for SA shooting. I shoot strictly DA, so not an issue for me.
