I prefer the Volquartsen extended mag release. Similar to the factory version Ruger now uses but it makes removing the mag a one-hand operation. Operate the release with your pinky finger and the mag just drops into your hand.
I had the volquartsen a few years ago. It worked very well and I liked it. Or so I thought.
I was walking through some brush while squirrel hunting and when I got to the other side I noticed my mag had fallen out. Must have snagged the release on something. I never found the mag either. I went home and removed it.
They are nice for bench shooting but if you'll be using the gun for hunting be warned.
