checked Johnson County Sherrif's site today for info since i finally decided its time to get my LTCH and the only problem and question i have is which one to choose and whats the best way to do the fingerprints? I guess this L1 place it mentions would be the best since its electronic

heres the list it shows, lifetime is my main choice and possibly the smartest choice, i plan on useing a handgun when i get one for target and personal protection, would i have to get both kinda permits for it or ust one?

IMHO Option 5 is your best bet since its your first. (the license/no license is renewal of an existing 4 year/new license)

As I recall you get two money orders, one for each, state and local. Payment is made together, but goes to two different agencies.

Might be different with L1, not sure.

also do i have to pay both local and state fees together?

Go HERE. Fill out the form correctly and submit. There will be a link at the end to make an appointment for L1 electronic fingerprinting (which I think is called morphotrust or something similar now). You can pay the state fee and the electronic printing fee online after setting up your appointment. The local fee has to be paid at the local PD (or wherever you go in your area). Call ahead and ask if they accept cash or money-order (some accept both, some only one or the other).

Sit back and wait (im)patiently for your pink slip to arrive!!! When it does, make 600 copies on the same color pink paper, sign-THEN-laminate them (the order is important here!), then spread them out on your bed and roll around in your pseudo-freedom!!

    Sounds about right.

If you dont want to use L1 you had better hurry. You wont have a choice in about 27 days:

"...beginning July 1, 2013, all applications must be submitted electronically and all fingerprints must be taken and submitted electronically through MorphoTrust." (L1)

    (from ISP: Firearms Licensing)

I wonder who's palm(s) got greased for THAT law change....:xmad:

I only paid $10 local (SB offers a military discount.) I paid the local fee in cash, the $75 must be a money order or cashier's check made out to the State of Indiana.

Get on it, man! The sooner you apply, the sooner you get it!
