"Of the 620 bills that Paul had sponsored through December 2011, over a period of more than 22 years in Congress, only one had been signed into law — a lifetime success rate of less than 0.3%.The sole measure authored by Paul that was ultimately enacted allowed for a federal customhouse to be sold to a local historic preservation society (H.R. 2121 in 2009)."
    - Ron Paul - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Now, I don't think Congress needs to pass a lot of bills, but seriously, in 22 years, he had ONE initiative passed and it was meaningless? THAT's the leadership you support?

All that says to me is that Ron Paul doesn't go along with the status quo.

What truly matters is whether or not Paul was right on the issues or not.

I'm sure that if Paul had written a bunch of bills to increase spending, many more of them would have passed. Good leadership? Good for America?

Obama has sign plenty of laws. Is he effective? Is that a record to strive for?

I said above that passing laws is not a sign of success. But in 22 years, you'd think if he was qualified to lead the entire country then he could lead congress on at least one thing.

He's a kook. Sure I like his limited government but you have to take the rest of Ron Paul to get that and it's just not acceptable.

So he should lead like Santorum..... If you watch the video you might learn something...

Santorum: " I voted for planned parenthood"

Santorum: "As president I will not vote for planned parenthood"

I like Ron Paul. I don't have disposable income though so political donations are out of the question.

Still, I like his general style. Any time the moderators try to bring him into the mudslinging, he responds with a "Oh, I really don't care about that," and goes on to talk about something else.

I would vote for Obama before I would vote for any of the other candidates, though. Looks like this year will be another blank vote, at least for the Presidential race.

This thread should have a poll. Of coarse, it will be discounted as soon as Ron Paul overwhelmingly wins it as well.

This is the first presidential election cycle I have ever donated to a candidate. I donated twice to Dr Paul.

I don't trust a Romney appointed judge one bit more than an Obama appointment. The Republican party wants to keep shoving candidates that I can't support down my throat. Then they want to blame me for not supporting them. Go ahead and blame me. I'm a big boy and I can take the heat.

I forget who said it, but it bears repeating, that "the pursuit of perfection is the enemy of all that is good." The majority of the founding fathers were opposed to slavery, but at the time of the revolution they knew that they could not get the southern states to join the Union if the Constitution freed all of the slaves. They took what they could get at the time and laid the foundation for ending slavery later.

...I will technically end up voting against Obama, but it certainly won't be for the Republican, unless it's him. (Ron Paul)
They are practically tied for worst party in the game.

I can relate to that, but I still hold out hope that the conservative caucus within the Republican Party would put enough pressure on a Republican president that he would appoint decent judges to the federal court and constitutional appointees to the Supreme Court if/when the opportunity arises.

I suggest you save your money and invest in tangible resources like silver, gold, ammo, food, and things that can be used to keep your family safe. It won't matter who's in there...

I have a natural aversion to surrender. As long as I breathe, I will not give up the fight.

I don't think Newt, Santorum, Bachman, or Perry are perfect, but I could have supported any of them. Mitt gave his state Romney care, including tax payer funded abortion. Signed homosexual marriage into law and personally signed hundreds of marriage licensees for gay couples. He defended "tough gun laws". He mandated that Catholic adoption agencies must adopt to gay couples to stay in bushiness. In short he was Obama before Obama was.

I have given a couple donations to TEA PARTY groups.

About every 10 days I get calls from various GOP organizations. Must have gotten 6 calls so far since Jan 1. They have all gotten the same answer, I will not donate to the GOP until they start to listen to Ron Paul and the Tea Party groups.

Murdock and Stutzman. Will be donating to Santorum in the near future.

I have donated twice the amount I've done in the past. I fear what lays ahead of us if the socialists continue in power.

We can no longer sit on the side lines, the opposition is raising large amounts money.

Don't overlook the importance of supporting your state officials. We just saw what happened with the RTW bill and don't forget who writes our state gun laws. You know, the ones that determine carry on campus, felony conviction for having a gun locked up in your car while you go into your childs school to talk to their teacher, carrying in a church that has a school on its property, along with drug testing for welfare recipients, etc. We are facing a turnover at the governor level and the House stands to pick up more seats, effectively crippling Pat Bauer for years to come.
Financial and physical donations are invaluable in electing those that want to advance the principles that we all generally agree upon. Get involved! :patriot:
