I keep seeing a lot of "the U.S. owes China the most money", "The Chinese are going to invade because we owe them so much money", etc. etc. etc.
Well, it turns out the people who the U.S. is most in debt to is..... drum roll please:
US! The American People. Go figure.

China actually only has about 10 percent of our debt.
The first is the american people at 42.1 percent followed by the Civil Service Retirement fund at 17.9 percent.
