This video is graphic, so be forwarned.

If it is a repost, I apologize.

Apparently the boar was shot with a high power rifle but survived and comes at the hunter, who draws his .45acp.

    Tough buggers aren't they?

I'm thinking a .44 mag would have been in order.

    WOW

It is amazing anything could withstand that many rounds from point blank range. Not sure why the high powered rifle was not used for a second or third shot

I was wondering the same thing, but you don't usually get the whole story with videos like this. I think I would much rather carry a .44 mag as backup when hog hunting after seeing this.

I've seen Uncle Ted(Nugent) dump about half a mag of 10mm into one to stop it from being pissed about the arrow sticking out of it's side. I rarely leave the house without a .45 auto, but for hogs, I'd go big or go home. 44 mag minimum for me.

We've got these hogs on the farm in TN. Shot placement is crucial to a quick kill.
I always shot high rear shoulder shots. Bow only and seldom had to follow up or ever use a back up.
OF course I always had a tree close by I could shimmy up quick.

I did some ground hunting for boar about 20-25 years ago in TN at Tellico Junction. Used a .45ACP. It can get exciting if you don't break the shoulder or get an instant kill. Keeping a climbable tree close is good advice.

Shot placement fail all over the place but great video and now he's got bacon in the freezer.

That hog was a warrior! The hunter should be proud to have taken such a fine animal.

I went to the same place back in 1977 I was using my 444marlin, all you need after that is a sharp knife.
