Winchester Model 255 Lever Action Disassembley

[Pistol Packing Preacher]

I have a 22 WMR, Model 255 Winchester Lever Action that just came into my shop and I cannot find drawings or a disassembly guide on it. I need to get it apart for a complete cleaning. This is the first one of these I have seen and don't want to attempt this blindly. Does any one have schematics or experience with this gun?

I will check and see if it is in my Gun Digest book of Assembly and Disassembly tonight. I know these books saved my butt quite a few times when I owned my shop and I would highly recommend them for any gun shop.

I think it is just like the model 88. Not for sure but a good place to start. I had a 255 but not a 88,

I found the exploded view in jacks first catalog page 893 gun #716.
