Woodworkers: Where do you buy your exotics?

I'm wanting to add an ebony forend to a Berthier sporter I'm putting together. Where should I buy? I've no experience in wood purchasing so I don't know who is reliable.

Northwest Lumber on Lafayette Rd. On the west side of Indy has a good selection.

Rockler's selection sucks, and their prices are high. North West Lumber is the place to go locally.

Woodcraft is high as well.

Might give Northwest a call. I'm not seeing what I need on their website, but they've probably got stuff they don't list.

They only place i use is this place. They do mostly small blanks; however, they do have larger stock avail.

Just a quick note. Depending on species and size and quality of Ebony you will pay up to $300 per board foot. Have you perhaps looked at African Black wood? Or possibly dying some domestic wood?

If you definitely want Ebony, locally I would go to Northwest Lumber.

Another quick note, Most species of Ebony can cause eye, lung or skin irritation.
