Do any shops around Indy have this gun in stock? My brother is going to be getting his first handgun and after some research he is thinking he wants this gun. It is new so pretty hard to find but a couple of places online have it. He is ready to buy but I told him to hold off and see if any shops around him have it.

Also, has anybody had a chance to shoot this gun? Any thoughts? Thanks for the help.

I have been feeling like getting one also, but I'm chalking that up to looking at it every time i vote on the Springfield web site for the past month.

    I have the Mod 2 Sub-Compact & the Gen 1 Service.

The grip texture on the Mod 2 is better than the Gen 1, but it still isn't as good as a solid stippling job. I seriously considered carrying the Gen 1, but the M&P won the battle. I shoot both well, but I'm a pinch better w the M&P + the accessories are more plentiful for the M&P family.

If he chooses the Springfield Armory family, he won't go wrong, but if he plans on modifying it, he may be better suited with a different family of Firearms.

Thanks for the help. I'll point him in the direction of Bradis to actually get his hands on one. I don't see him becoming a big "gun guy" so he probably won't modify it at all.
