If I'm limited to three then the sky is the limit for cost.

I would want at least one 1911 and either a Dan Wesson Valor or Wilson CQB. I would also want a CZ 9mm and I would go with a Rami for carry purposes. Then a S&W Model 17 for a hunting pistol.

That leaves me without a real revolver so I reserve the right to change my mind.

In reality, a g17, a colt 1911, and these days a gsg1911. The last one is an oddball gun I know, but it shoots well, suppresses great, and eats just about any ammo I throw at it, and since its a 22 is cheap to shoot all day.
