My wife will be on vacation in two weeks. She has "tenure" such as it is and gets to choose vacation days first. Six weeks paid, each year, seven next year.
    She grabs all the holidays.

"HOW did you get next week off!??!" they say.
She says, "I put in for it ten years ago and waited my turn."

These newbs have no idea what a 25 year career in a union even looks like.

Morning guys. I get 14 vacation days. We work four-day weeks so that breaks down to 3-1/2 weeks. I have a hard time using it because we don't travel, and we get enough days off that I don't usually need them. I asked if I could donate some of my days to our coworker who was diagnosed with sarcoma a couple weeks ago. She is going to be doing her treatments at Mayo Clinic and is going to be missing a lot of work. Dr loved the idea so I transferred a few of my days to her and he told the staff that anyone else interested in doing so could just let him know. She's 45 with two sons that are young teens.
