Just posted up with a margarita on the back deck. Bought a whole strip roast and cut up in 2’s. Ended up with one single steak so I guess I’ll just have to grill that one up.
Fresh asparagus from the garden for a side.

The sun keeps slipping in the clouds, so pics weren't that great.

I cut all my spinach back. Got a grocery bag full. I am afraid they will bolt in this sudden heat.

Is that Virginia creeper on the ground all around it? Usually seen as a climbing vine?

Most of my Latin comes from study of plants, so quite limited.

I remember that plant has a stupid long name I can't remember, now. But the species name is quinquefolia, if it's the same as I had before.
Beautiful fire red in the fall?
Name means Five (What?) Leaves.
Genus name is borderline ridiculous.

Makes a great combo! Beautiful azaleas!

Yes it is Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia) and I need to get after it with the weed eater. It gets everywhere - all over the ivy (not sure which I hate more - the creeper or the ivy) and up the pine trees and it's starting to cover the azalea.

Ivies and creepers are very damaging if they climb on walls or over rooves.
They can both kill long standing trees in short order if left to "win" over your desirable plantings.

Keeping either one in check is a handful.

I let mine run over some no longer producing peach trees that I hacked off for BBQ wood at times.
Looked great in the fall.

Had people stop often, "What kind of tree is that?"
"Dying kind."

I've got 3 huge white pines that are probably 70 years old at least, and the ivy has taken over their trunks. Been that way for as long as I can remember. I have some out front that I do have to keep off the house (Bedford limestone). In fact that needs to be done again now.
