How is this thread alive? I thought the "badge" trend would pass when I started handing out my "I have a LTCH" tee shirts with big font.. Copied them off the "SHERIFF" AND "POLICE" shirts. ;)

I am considering getting a badge since I only Open Carry and have done so for years. I used to be a Fugitive Recovery Agent years ago and I had a badge next to my Glock. A friend of mine, who is a Police Officer, gave me a Fobus holster and is giving me his Duty belt so that I can carry more mags. I don't pretend to be a LEO and I used to turn down free soft drinks etc. when offered. As soon as I can comfortably wear a light jacket, I do. So far no one has said anything to me including Indianapolis City Police and State Troopers. I want to make sure people are comfortable when they see my weapon and that the Police don't shoot me if I have to defend myself or help an LEO who is in trouble. Thoughts? I am still in the thinking stage. I will ask my Pastor tomorrow, who is a City Detective, what he thinks.

    Thoughts?
    All the bad thoughts.
The fact that this was ever considered a good idea, and that this thread was resurrected from the dead, leave me with bad thoughts.
A badge won’t make an officer feel more comfortable if they don’t know the person wearing it, or at least if they aren’t following a certain protocol.
A badge might get you killed or harassed these days, without the force of law on you side.
JMHO, YMMV, what do I know, etc.

    Yup!

    Welcome to INGO...

You've revived a 9 year old thread - lol, I don't think even time makes getting a badge a good idea. I'd even argue in todays climate where enough people are anti LEO, that you're even asking for MORE trouble than when this original post was started as a bad idea.

What you need to do is not worry about carrying a deadly weapon and just make your body into one. Look there on the you tube for some Diamond Dave school of ninja training videos. In a few short training episodes you to can be slanging some lethal Judy Chops. Just remember do not go ninjaing no bodies that do not need ninjaing.
