I think he could have done a better job. As mentioned a few times, it seemed like he was dodging a bit. Graham's follow up was pretty good. It was nice to see someone leading the conversation actually allow other opinions to be stated without talking over the guest the entire time.

I thought he missed some good talking points. I also think that he got very close to playing into the their arguments. For example, Wayne was talking about how there are so many violent crimes that where happening. He almost made it seem like it was commonplace and that guns are everywhere. Then he doesn't mention anything about how according to the FBI crime statistics that the homicide rates have been on the decline. He also struggled to articulate why a "high capacity" magazine should not be banned.

Overall, I appreciate that he is one who has the balls to go and talk to the media, but I was hoping for some stronger arguments. Whoever does represent us has to understand the mindset of the people who think that gun/magazine bans will be effective and articulate at their level why they are not.

Larry Pratt did a fine job against a much more hostile host. He wasn't the one invited to this party. I believe he would have done a much better job though.

Also, why are the people on Meet the Press so quick to want to turn this Country into a police state and ban everything? What is going on in their heads? Why are they so freely admitting that they want to restrict the First and Second amendments? I heard one lady say that there is a patch work of gun laws by each state and implied that the Federal Government should step in and do something about it. She also said that there are some states allow people to carry into schools and that common sense dictates that this isn't a good idea. Who's common sense is she talking about?

:xmad: GRRRRR!!!! Sorry for the rant and I know I'm preaching to the quire. If this is what we are up against, we are screwed. Big time.

That was one thing I thought LaPierre did a good job on, talking about how the media and politicians are trying to push things with lies and false facts. We need more politicians like Lindsey Graham that will come out and say that they own the evil firearms and understand that a limit on magazine capacity would mean little to nothing. Sadly, most will probably sit on their hands because they know they'll be able to get what they want because of who they are.

I'm not doubting that Mr. Pratt would do a fine job, but I do think that Morgan is an idiot who is easy to argue against. In fact, Morgan sealed his own fate by discrediting himself by loosing his cool. Mr. Gregory is more level headed, intelligent and is good at arguing. It would have been nice to see more representatives for our 2A rights.

I've got the show DVR'd but haven't watched it yet. But just on face value, to see Sepe say we need more politicians like Lindsey Graham about made me spew my Diet Pepsi through my nose.

It could have went better for us, but wasn't a complete loss. We still had troubles during the last AWB and he did try to get that point heard. The band would only stop law abiding citizens, not the people that are committing these crimes. He tried to state that point and back it up, but he kept getting pressed back to what parts of an AWB would the NRA support.

Of course he isn't going to say they would support anything in it. That goes completely against what they stand for. Same with limited ammo capacity magazines. They just kept asking him about banning this and banning that trying to get him to say something that would make it seem like their side of the issue is the only one that is right.

Huh? Did you stop reading part way through that sentence? I noticed you only put part of it in bold.

Yes I read the whole thing.

Let me say it another way...as I was reading it, when I saw the words "...we need more politicians like Lindsey Graham...", those are words I never expected to see you write about a RINO like him. That is all.

ETA: LG may be right on this topic and I'm glad to have him on our side. But a reliable constitutionalist minded politician, he is not.
