Waited 7 weeks for a crossbreed. Something that should have taken 3-5 days.
I heard that!

Who really thinks that Crossbreed holsters weren't copied?
IANAL: I was working to try and file a patent. There are two questions that seemed to really define the scope. My guess is that Crossbreed is trying to argue those two. #1 is what are you doing differently that is significant enough to warrant a patent. #2 is this currently available in the consumer market.
I think they're going to have a hard time proving either. But, the filing can grant them a provisional patent. Someone else has to step up and prove that Crossbreed took it from them. That's where the one with the most money to throw at it wins.
Copied? No..
I think Crossbreed was influenced by Tucker's The Answer, then other holster makers were influenced by both.. then Crossbreed decided to stifle the competition by lawsuit, rather then by the free market.
However you can justify it in your mind is all that counts for you.
Uhm, ok?
The Tucker predates the Crossbreed by 3 years.. so how, again, is Crossbreed being the one copied?
At the time I didn't see Crossbreed as a direct copy of Tucker, I saw Crossbreed as an improvement. There are several that are direct copies of Crossbreed.
He never cared about the garage guys who are just trying to make a living.
Do you deny that holsters were manufactured and sold in the marketplace that were for all intents and purposes predated your designs and were basically the same design?
That's why one of the first people they went after was Kholster... puhleeeease
Basically the same design? Not even close... same concept? Sure But NOT EVEN CLOSE to the same design...
The only difference between the Kholster & the Super-Tuck is the shape of the leather backer... seems pretty close to the Crossbreed design if you ask me.
And the "kholster" is pretty widely known; doesn't sound like a garage guy to me. How many holsters are they selling in a year? I think what Crossbreed means by "garage guys" are the guys that are making 20-50 one-off holsters per year for local customers... They aren't really impacting Crossbreed's sales that much...
Intersting. I had never heard of The Answer, so I had to go look at it.Crossbreed is not even close to The Answer, but Kholster is pretty close? huh..
We are talking about YEARS ago when Kholster first started, in a garage... They were barely up and running before Crossbreed was slamming them all over the internet and sending them Cease and Desist orders..
