"brittle" as if suicide is a matter of weakness.
I think many self exits are done by those who are weary.

As for religious views on the subject..................nothing outright after checking with my Exhaustive Concordance.

Without starting a RELIGOUS discussion, I wonder what those words would turn up in the Exhaustive Concordance. I already have a pretty good idea though…

In response to the "cowards way" comment.....

So I guess the approx. 22 veterans a day that commit suicide, they must all be cowards, right?
Even though many of them tried to get help at the VA, and were turned away.

Use of the term "coward's way", to me, evidences that the person using it has not had exposure to severe depression or experienced it themselves, which is an immensely positive thing. Everyone has been depressed, but to put it in terms INGO can relate to, normal depression and normal stresses of life are a 9mm compared to the type of clinical, usually organic, depression that leads someone to consider taking their own life, which is more of a 120mm M829 APFSDS-T. It's not a justification to commit suicide, but it's vastly different from what most people ever experience, thank God. Like I said pages back, I won't name call.

The Oklahoma City Bombing Trial: The Denver Post Online
    Okla. hero commits suicide

Sgt. Terrance Yeakey, 30, was found Wednesday in a field near his hometown of El Reno. He had apparently tried to slit his wrists, then shot himself to death, just three days before he was to have received the department's medal of valor. Ramsey and Yeakey were among the first Oklahoma City police officers to reach the scene of the April 19, 1995, bombing that killed 168 people at the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Yeakey rescued at least four people before he fell through two floors of the wrecked building and injured his back.

Hmmm. A hero. Rescues people risking his life.

    Yup. Must be a coward.

Hmmmmm....His suicide sounds suspiciously like Meriwether Lewis'......I am no conspiracy theorist but my senses are raised when there are signs of cutting and then a shot......It's funny...We talk about bad neighborhoods and such a lot but in my perusing of US history I have come to believe that the Natchez Trace in the first half of the 19th century had to be one of the most dangerous places in the US...

Based largely on Mrs. Grinder’s story, most historians have argued that Lewis tried to kill himself with two pistol shots, and when death did not come quickly enough, tried to finish the job with his razor. However, in a 1962 book, Suicide or Murder? The Strange Death of Governor Meriwether Lewis, the author Vardes Fisher raised questions about the reliability of Mrs. Grinder’s story and suggested that Lewis might have actually been murdered, either by Mrs. Grinder’s husband or bandits. Since then a minority of historians has continued to raise challenges to the suicide thesis. But ultimately, nearly two centuries after the event, we may never be able to discover exactly what happened that night along the Natchez Trace when one of the nation’s greatest heroes died at the tragically young age of 35.

Which is not good theology or good counseling.

I am a believer in the unseen. My experiences in life; including the present "valley of darkness," have led me to believe, that most of us are "pawns in a spiritual game of chess." It's all about protecting the King and some of us will be scacrificed in order to do so. FYIW, I almost attended this guys memorial last Saturday, until I got bits and pieces of the circumstances behind his situation, that same day. Do we know what platform and caliber he used?

I never did like, or agree with, that quote.

Well the idea behind the quote, and I'll lead you to the conclusion is this.
    1. God will never give you more than you can handle, because?

    2. When you get overwhelmed with problems what does the bible say you are to do? I know the answer I'm just leading here.

So when we become overwhelmed, weighed down and we realize we can't handle things on our own. We are instructed to give it to god, to turn our burden over to him and have faith. Their for and in conclusion yes in a roundabout way god will never give us more than we can handle because we are to realize that god will carry that burden for us. Think back and reread " footprints "

    Supporting scripture not withstanding.

    behind you
It's selfish to make a mess in someone's business. It hurts their business and is difficult for the employees. Very sorry this happened and if you want to do something like that how about make it happen in a secluded place where it will have miniimal impact on others. Of course the family will suffer buts it's not right to increase the damage to others. Imho

Yes, that is the reason that the military quit expecting POW's to adhere to name, rank and serial number under torture. It finally became clear that eventually everybody will break and it doesn't mean that one is a coward.
