Funny, I see lots of long time members telling him to stick around and learn what the forum is all about before judging it too harshly. Perhaps you should start on page 1 and re-read some.

^This^ I just spent alittle time and re-read this entire thread and I honestly don't get where this "pilling on" or "bullying" of the OP notion is coming from. Other than the usual thread derailments I think there has been a vast majority of encouraging comments directed toward the OP.

I'm outing myself here for good reason. When I saw the "Meet and greet" post, I noted his location. He's in the same vicinity as my BIL, who was coming down for a gathering of like minded folk. I thought, new member, free ride down and back, and range time. What could go wrong with this? I even gave my home # to call. If he had called and said, this , this, and this is what I'm about, I still would have been ok with him coming down.

I have learned a valuable lesson here. And I will NEVER DO IT AGAIN.

I have been watching and see the same thing.
I believe the OP being quick to call a few of us stupid when in fact the effort was made to get then OP out with a few members to attend Shoot. He would have needed no guns/ammo as "We" would have supplied it all.
Reading something into intentions That are not there is kind of sad.
I believe we are dealing with a few thin skin issuess. No insults intended just an observation.

Op should have called that number. He would have had a ride and a great day. This is what we do on ingo. We share. In the sharing friends are made. Things are learned. That is what's truly amazing not the non-existant dog pile.

Maybe it's our fault for assuming that someone who joined a gun forum would be into shooting? I guess we got the wrong pronoun on that one.


From reading the OP's other thread it looks like he could have lots of good discussions with other members and never speak of guns again on here.

I've received emails telling me to read this thread. I hadn't intended to respond because I really couldn't care less about condescending and sarcastic comments... I deal with a**h***s daily, and I don't need to explain anything to anyone.
The thing that bothers me, is the recurring lie, that I've called people stupid. I wouldn't do that, even though some would and have. Link the post where I stated ANYONE was stupid and quit reading what you want to believe. I did state, that it's ridiculous not to be able to respond to PM's that were sent to me.

I also never stated I didn't enjoy shooting... only that I prefer to spend my hard earned on other things, things that show something for the effort and cost.

People really need to read what is written, instead of reading what they want to read into it.

My intention wasn't to upset anyone, but apparently I have and I've probably made it on several ignore lists. Life goes on.

You would think that people would let this thread die, but I'm glad I have provided entertainment. Carry on, I won't respond any further.
