Well, went to put the P-01 back together last night and guess what I couldn't find..... That's right, the darn firing pin block lever spring. Don't have any extra on hand so had to order a few.

Reading the section on night sights in the CZ manual is pretty great. Apparently if you own nine or more sets of their night sights, you are supposed to contact your local authorities (EPA?) to see what precautions you should take. Another part says if the glass breaks and you inhale the tritium gas, the recommended procedure is to drink a low alcohol content beer.

Do you guys prefer to have the mag base be flush with the grip or to add the little rubber base plate? As you know the Mec-Gar 14 round compact mags come with a giant metal lip on the bottom. Just trying to decide if I want to grind that off or if I want to put the rubber cover on it.

I'm okay with either, but I think the general feeling around here is that the rubber base plate is preferred.

That is what I figured. I don't have giant hands, so I don't need the extra room for my grip. I like the rubber base plates I have, I just knew a few people have taken the metal plates to the grinding wheel and didn't know how they felt about the change.

I usually run the rubber base plates, but I do have one 14 round mag that has an aluminum base plate from a Browning HP. Let me know if you want the FP lifter spring quickly and I'll bring my spare your way. Those things are really tiny and can be tough to find in the best of conditions. I lost the one from my 40P the other day only to find that it was still in the gun but just had slipped down out of place.

Almost forgot, I ran out to MCFG with my son this morning and put a quick 50 rounds through the SP01 Compact. I had my P01 alongside for comparison. The chunky little SP01C is amazingly flat shooting. There is no muzzle flip and you can keep rounds on target as fast as you can manage the trigger. The P01 had only a hint more muzzle flip though and was also easy to keep on target, so we'll see how the two compare once I get the SP01C Cajunized to match the P01. I really love that format pistol.

    Very cool! :yesway:

Friday's are always a good thing if you have weekends off. Anyone else doing the 1500 tomorrow?

I thought about it, but the wife is off work tomorrow so probably not. I thought about going Sunday and bringing the CCO to see if it would sell...

Have you thought about maybe putting the CCO on consignment down at USDS? I'm thinking of taking my Remington Rand down this weekend.
